Aspire
Young Lives has secured funding through the Coalfield Regeneration Trust to support small voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups working with young people in specific former coalmining areas. These areas are:
Airedale and Ferry Fryston
Hemsworth
Wakefield East
South Elmsall and South Kirkby
Knottingley
Wakefield West
Wakefield North
Featherstone
Normanton
Altofts and Whitwood
Castleford Central and Glasshoughton
Pontefract North
Ackworth, North Elmsall and Upton
Pontefract South
Wakefield South
Crofton, Ryhill and Walton
To qualify for FREE support and training through Aspire you must be a VCS worker or volunteer with a young people's VCS group in one of the above areas. There will be a variety of support on offer, including accredited Youth Work Training Level 2 and 3, starting at the beginning of March. Level 1 accredited Safeguarding - this is a pilot course and will start at the end of February. We are signing up for these courses now. We are also offering Skillshares and 1 to 1 support. • Organisational Development (for new and established groups)
